FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CARY, N.C. — July 10, 2026 — Independent filmmaker Eric Hamilton and EHAMX Studios announced today that Dog or Die has earned Best Supporting Actor honors at two separate international film festivals, with two different supporting performances recognized by different festival juries.
The film received Best Supporting Actor at the International Cinema Awards and Best Supporting Actor at the World Class Film Awards, marking a rare achievement for a single independent feature.
Dog or Die follows Ethan, a young engineering student who survives a gunshot outside a fraternity party and reflects on the life experiences that led him to that defining moment. Blending themes of identity, brotherhood, race, love, and resilience, the film examines the pressures of becoming a man through the lens of fraternity life and personal transformation.
Beyond the acting honors, Dog or Die has earned recognition across the festival circuit, including Best Feature and Best Indie at the LA Sun Film Festival, Best Dramatic Impact, Best African American Themed Film, and Best African American Filmmaker at The Indies Fest, Best African American Themed Film and Best Original Score at Best Shorts Competition.
"This recognition is meaningful because it speaks to the emotional connection audiences and juries are making with the characters," said writer and director Eric Hamilton. "Technology can help us create images, but performances only resonate when the story connects on a human level. These awards reinforce my belief that AI-assisted filmmaking can be used to tell authentic, emotionally driven stories."
Produced by EHAMX Studios, Dog or Die combines traditional cinematic storytelling with AI-assisted production techniques, demonstrating how emerging technology can expand creative opportunities for independent filmmakers while keeping character and narrative at the forefront.
The film continues its festival run while expanding its growing list of international honors.
